The 11 cows Kermit Eisenhut Painted for the 2001 Houston Cow Parade
Kermit’s expertise at painting on fiberglass started with the first Houston Cow Parade, “Moovelous” in Houston in 2001 for which he painted 11 cows.
“Moovelous” featured 325 cows each hand-painted and displayed around the city from Sept – Nov 2001. At the end of the exhibition the animals were auctioned off and the proceeds donated to charity. Back in 2001, $3.2 million was raised for Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest amount ever, at that time.
With his years of experience Kermit is an expert at painting on fiberglass He not only accepts commissions to paint fiberglass animals, 6′ boots, etc he also carries out restorations.
“CowParades” as they are known are a worldwide event: animals such as Elephant, Penguins, Teddy Bears, SuperDragons have been featured but also ideas such as What’s in your DNA? in London UK where 21 double helix sculptures were displayed.
